Francis Anthony (named for the Saints),
also know as Francy or Francypants, was our most traveled cat.
We rescued him in National City, CA
from the middle of a busy intersection in 2006
when he was 5 weeks old and barely alive.
He was our miracle kitty and we had to add him to our family!
Two years later he moved with us and our 9 other cats to
Boston, MA where he lived most of his life.
In 2023 he moved with us to Denver, CO and settled in nicely.
He was just 18 years old when he went to heaven on
May 7, 2024 after struggling with an illness.
He was such a strong and brave boy and always
made us laugh. He had the most silky soft fur
and loved to sleep between our legs. Oh how we
miss his warm body and his gentle purr.

Our beloved William left for Heaven to be with his brothers and sisters on August 21, 2021. He was 16 and a half years of age and had been battling diabetes bravely for a little over a year and a half - after being misdiagosed at first.
Once properly diagnosed, he was doing so well until his kidneys suddenly stopped functioning.
He was the instigator in his rescue with Edith and his litter mates from Old Town Park in San Diego when they were approximately 4 months old. He was the most adorable kitten leading the pack and hiding behind a small berm of grass when we first saw him. We instantly fell in love with him! Little did we all know how wonderfully our lives would change after that encounter! We will always love you and treasure you, William, and we know we will be together again someday.

Our beloved Mikey passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2016. He was just 10 and a half years old. He was not sick and appeared to pass peacefully in his sleep. We buried him next to Philip and before we laid him to rest, we had a wake for him in the house. We prayed for him and sang a hymn to him and wrapped him in a blanket and placed herbs and flowers around him. Just as we went outside to bury him, two lights that we have in the garden lit up. They are solar powered and haven’t been shining all winter. The one we placed near Philip’s grave when we buried him now lights both of their graves. I believe it was a sign from God that they are with Him and their light will shine on us until we are reunited someday. We miss our Mikey so much and are again heartbroken. But for all the pain of losing our beloved pets, we would never be without them. The joy they give us every day
mends our broken hearts!

I am heartbroken to have to write that our precious Clara Belle passed away on
November 28, 2016. She was diagnosed with cancer and died in our arms at home just a few days later. She was Mikey's littermate and I am certain they are together now in Heaven with all our beloved cats that have passed. We miss her so very much, but we are thankful she did not suffer for a long time. We love you forever, sweet Clara, and we will always miss you. You were a purrfect kitty and such a beauty-inside and out.

Edith
Our precious little Edith joined her brothers and sisters in Heaven on January 9, 2019. She fought hard against cancer but it was too much for our little girl.
She was one of our feral babies we trapped
in San Diego's Old Town in 2005 and she was
almost 14 years when she left us. We had to love her mostly from afar because she just couldn't overcome her feral instincts, but she loved her feline brothers and sisters and lived a much longer life than she would have on the streets. She blessed us in so many ways and she was
so beautiful inside and out.
We love her and miss her every day.

Hazel left us on April 6, 2018 in the
same way her brother Mikey left. She passed during the night with no apparent signs of illness. She was 12 years old.
It is so shocking to lose a beloved cat like this, but it is also a blessing that she did not have to linger with a long, drawn out illness. But, we miss her so terribly!
She was her Daddy's little girl and we called her our Teddy Beara because she reminded us of the Disneyland character
in the "Bear Country Jamboree"!
Hazel, we love you forever and
miss your little chubby bear body and your
glorious, soft, silky fur.
Our sweet Judy was abandoned by her
first "owners" after she had had a few litters of kittens that were all killed by cars or predators. We rescued her when she was about 3 years old and we were blessed with the gift of her beautiful soul and presence for 13 years. She left us September 12, 2017 after a battle with cancer. She fought hard with her little determined "tortie" spirit and was so very brave. We love her and will miss her always, but we know she is reunited with her beloved Philip! Until we meet again! |
Our precious little Gladys passed away in her Daddy's arms on September 27, 2022. She was 17 years old. She and her other 6 littermates were born one week after we trapped and rescued her pregnant mommy, Madeleine, in Old Town San Diego. Gladys was her mommy's "mini-me"! She looked just like her except her nose was black and her blaze a little smaller. They were always together snuggling and Gladys was often "making biscuits" on her mommy through her whole life. She had such a darling personality and we miss her terribly.

Madeleine Mae was a beautiful young feral cat living
in Old Town San Diego, CA until we rescued her and her previous four month old litter of 5 kittens. She was pregnant (almost full term) and delivered 7 kittens on August 19, 2005, a week after we brought her home. Our veterinarian believed she was around 2 years old when adopted her. She remained shy and nervous through her life, but was certainly comfortable and happy in our home with many of her offspring and deeply loved by us. She never longed to go outside again and enjoyed our "catio" (screened in porch) in our home. She suddenly went blind when she was around 18 years old and was so tolerant when recieving her meds from us. She inspired us with her ability to easily navigate around our home. She passed away to heaven on May 24, 2022 at approximately 19 years old, and joined all her beloved babies that were waiting for her.
We miss her and the feel of her cotton-soft fur, but know we will all be together again someday. She is our heroine!
